The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the final WASSCE timetable for candidates in Ghana only, effective March 27, 2026. If you’re a candidate in Ghana, this is your official exam schedule. Here’s what you need to know.
Exam Period: April – June 2026
The exams run from Tuesday, 7th April 2026 through Monday, 15th June 2026, covering project work, oral tests, practicals, and theory papers.
Key Dates for Ghana Candidates:
- Project Work & Oral Exams (April 7 – 27):
Subjects like Basketry, Ceramics, Graphic Design, and local languages (Dagaare, Twi, Ewe, etc.) have dates arranged by the Council. - Major Theory & Practical Papers (May – June):
- Robotics (Practical): Tuesday, 21st April
- Workers’ Day Holiday: Friday, 1st May (No exams)
- Integrated Science (Essay & Objective): Monday, 25th May
- Core Mathematics: Wednesday, 3rd June
- English Language (Essay & Objective): Wednesday, 10th June
- Physics (Practical – Alternative A): Monday, 15th June
Critical Updates for Ghana Candidates
- Two Sessions for Many Practicals
Subjects like Fisheries, Forestry, Applied Electricity, Woodwork, Chemistry, and Physics have 1st Set and 2nd Set sessions on the same day. Confirm your assigned session with your school. - Advance Release of Question Papers
- General Knowledge in Art Paper 3 – given to candidates two weeks before the exam.
- Project Work Papers (Basketry, Graphic Design, Ceramics, Sculpture, etc.) – also sent two weeks in advance. Your school will confirm the delivery date.
- Time Discrepancies
If the duration on your question paper differs from the timetable, follow the time on the question paper. - Extra Time for Candidates with Visual or Hearing Impairment
Affected candidates will receive 1.5 times the time allotted to other candidates. - Public Holiday
No exams on Friday, 1st May (Workers’ Day).
