Ghana EEducation Service (GES) has issues a press release to the general public, clarifying and insisting that the automatic salary adjustments for promoted teachers has not changed.

Detailsof tthe letter is provided below:

  1. Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has received concerns from
some newly promoted teachers to the effect that they have been directed to submit application letters together with their promotion letters and other documents for the processing of salary adjustments to reflect their new ranks.
  2. Teachers who are promoted to new ranks are usually placed automatically on
the appropriate salary scale to reflect the new ranks. This existing practice has not changed.
  3. Teachers are, therefore, to ignore the request to submit any documents for salary adjustments.
  4. Management calls for calm among teachers as it engages the few regions and
districts that are allegedly requesting such documents.

The letter was signed by Daniel Fenyi, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for GES.
