The Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Hon. Blay Nyameke Armah, has launched a GHS10 million educational fund to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students and help reduce school dropout rates in his constituency.

At a ceremony held in Sekondi, the MP explained that the fund will provide scholarships, free buses, textbooks, and other essential learning materials to ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to quality education.
“This initiative is aimed at removing the financial barriers that often force our children out of school. Education is a right, not a privilege, and we are determined to ensure that no child in Sekondi is left behind,” Hon. Armah stated.
The fund is part of a broader strategy to invest in the future of the youth and reflects growing concern about rising dropout rates, especially among students from low-income families. It also aligns with ongoing national efforts to improve access and equity in the education sector.
Community leaders, parents, and education stakeholders welcomed the move, describing it as timely and transformative for many families in the Western Region.
