The Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA) is calling on traders to adjust the prices of goods and services.
This call was made in a statement issued by GUTA, appealing to the trading community to reflect recent currency gains in their pricing.
“We wish to appeal to the trading community to adjust prices of goods and services,” the statement emphasized.
According to GUTA, the cedi has made “significant gains” over the past few months against major trading currencies. GUTA, therefore, entreated traders to ensure that the gains in the cedi are translated into reductions in the prices of goods and services, thereby bringing some relief to ordinary Ghanaians.
“Consumers deserve to benefit from the recent currency stability. Bring some relief to the consuming public,” GUTA stressed.
Dr. Joseph Obeng, President of GUTA, reiterated that this is not just an economic concern, but also a moral one.
