Ghanaian sports journalist Thierry Nyann has announced his departure from Media General after a decade of dedicated service.
The ace sports journalist made this shocking revelation on his X page with a letter titled “Leaving Media General”.
During his tenure, Nyann served as both a sports presenter and Head of 3Sports, a division he helped grow significantly.
Reflecting on his time with the organization, he shared:
“I believe I have made a meaningful contribution as a sports presenter and head of 3Sports. I’ve built a strong personal brand over the 10 years while helping to grow several shows and initiatives.”
Thierry added these words to the letter on twitter:
Sadly my time at Media General (TV3 & 3FM) is over. It’s been a absolute pleasure hosting several shows including Ghana’s Strongest, Sports Station, Warm Up and more…
Thanks for your support during my time as a sports journalist and department lead.

Though Nyann had hoped to stay with the company longer, he acknowledged that it was time to move forward in his career, stating, “I had wished to remain with Media General for a longer period, but the time has come for the next chapter in my life.”
In his farewell, Nyann also spoke fondly of his colleagues, many of whom, he said, “have become like family.”
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the company’s leadership, including CEO Beatrice Agyemang and COO Mr. Nuamah-Eshun, for their guidance and support.
“Their care and advice were invaluable, and I deeply appreciate all they’ve done for me,” he noted.
Since the ‘BIG’ announcement, Thierry has been seen on his social media handles posting stuff on the Ghana Premier League and other interesting sports news.
