H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, has launched the One Million Coders (OMC) program in Accra.
The program aims to train one million Ghanaians in digital skills and seeks to empower young people with coding expertise, ultimately preparing them for the future job market.
The event took place at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence Auditorium on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
The One Million Coders program falls under the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation, and is designed to promote digital innovation and skills development in Ghana. The initiative aligns with the Ministry’s mandate to drive the country’s digital transformation agenda.

At the launch event, President Mahama emphasized that the initiative is a flagship program of his government and a strategic pillar in efforts to reset Ghana’s development agenda through digital skills.
“It’s a deliberate attempt to invest in the future of Ghanaian youth through technology and innovation,” stated Mahama.
The President also highlighted the transformative potential of the One Million Coders (OMC) program, noting its capacity to improve lives and drive economic growth.
