Mama Effe, born Eleanor Effe Amanor, concluded her illustrious 28-year career in broadcasting on May 5, 2025, coinciding with her 65th birthday. Her tenure at Nhyira FM was marked by her compassionate storytelling and unwavering commitment to social advocacy which made ‘Obra‘ a staple in many Ghanaian households.
The transition was celebrated with a heartfelt send-off where Tima Kumkum expressed her honor in stepping into the role “Kumasi, I’m here! ‘Tima exclaimed’ as she expressed her joy to host the legendary Mama Effe as she takes her final bow after 28 incredible years.
