President John Dramani Mahama has been honoured by Yonsei University in South Korea with an Honorary Doctorate in Public Administration.
According to reports, President Mahama was honoured with the honorary doctorate because of his efforts to promote democratic governance and development in Africa. The recognition also referenced the African Political Party Summit hosted in Ghana under the theme “From Politics to Prosperity.”
The Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, commended President John Dramani Mahama for Ghana’s strong democratic record and leadership in promoting democratic governance and economic recovery for the nation.
Speaking during bilateral engagements in South Korea, Speaker Woo Won-shik noted that Ghana has maintained a consistent record of peaceful transfers of power, describing the country as a highly democratic nation and a valued partner of Korea.
Speaker Woo Won-shik also congratulated President Mahama on receiving the honorary doctorate from Yonsei University, describing the recognition as a shared academic connection and a moment of pride.

President Mahama expressed his appreciation to the management and staff of Yonsei University for the honour given to him. He also thanked the President of South Korea for the bilateral cooperation that has existed between the two nations for over four decades.
