NIA Collaborates with GES to Register Ghanaian Children Aged 6–14 Years

NIA and GES Registration of Ghanaian Children

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has welcomed a delegation from the National Identification Authority (NIA), led by its Executive Secretary, Wisdom Kwaku Deku, to discuss preparations for the upcoming mass registration of Ghanaian children aged 6–14 years.

The meeting centred on deepening collaboration between GES and NIA to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated nationwide exercise. Key areas of discussion included planning, logistics, communication with schools and parents, and clearly outlining the responsibilities of both institutions.

Prof. Ernest Kofi Davies, Director-General of GES, reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to supporting this important national assignment by facilitating access to basic schools and working closely with regional and district education offices to ensure effective implementation.

In the meantime, the two institutions encouraged parents and guardians to cooperate fully when the exercise begins, as the registration of children is vital for national planning, access to services, and strengthening identity management systems in Ghana.

Stay tuned as we keep you updated on this development, particularly regarding the dates for the registration exercise, as soon as they are announced.
