Manchester City dismantled Borussia Dortmund with a commanding 4–1 victory in their latest UEFA Champions League outing. Erling Haaland haunted his former club by slotting in City’s second goal after Phil Foden opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Foden struck again in the 57th, netting a brilliant brace with another assist from Tijjani Reijnders. Dortmund managed a consolation through a free-kick from Waldemar Anton in the 72nd minute, sparking a brief rally. But Man City sealed the win in stoppage time when Rayan Cherki curled home a late strike. The win boosts City’s position in the group (10 points after four games) which highlighted their growing dominance in Europe. While Guardiola’s side impressed with their fluid attack, some questions remain over their defensive consistency. Still, it’s a statement night and a tough blow for Dortmund, who will need to regroup fast.
