The Ghana Education Service (GES) has urged all Regional Directors to support the 2025 Integrated Business Establishment Survey II (IBES II), a nationwide exercise aimed at updating critical economic data. Conducted by the Ghana Statistical Service, the survey will focus on indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Index of Industrial Production (IPP), and Producer Price Index (PPI), alongside employment and productivity trends.
In a letter signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Acting Deputy Director-General (Management Services), GES confirmed that approval had been granted for the survey to be carried out in all regions. Regional Directors have been instructed to assist field officers and ensure that information about the exercise is shared with Metro, Municipal, and District Directors, as well as Heads of Senior High/Technical Schools, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, STEM schools, and Basic Schools.
GES stressed that the IBES II survey is vital for providing accurate and reliable data to guide policy decisions and national development. “Your cooperation is crucial in ensuring the success of this important national assignment,” the letter emphasised, highlighting the role of education stakeholders in facilitating the process.

The survey is part of Ghana’s broader strategy to strengthen economic planning through evidence-based research, with findings expected to influence both national and sector-specific strategies, including those within education.
