Malaysia is working hard to become a big player in energy and chip making. The Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, said the country’s economy grew well last year because of money coming in from renewable energy and artificial intelligence projects. He also said prices in the country stayed stable, the money (ringgit) was strong, and their stock market did better than other countries in the region.
Malaysia wants to focus on oil and gas, semiconductors (chips), and Islamic banking to become the best in the world. The Economy Minister, Rafizi Ramli, said the country hopes to start making its own computer chips in the next 5 to 10 years.
Malaysia is looking for over $100 billion to grow its chip-making industry and has already attracted big companies like Intel and Google.
