A celebrated gospel musician Koo Nhyira has become the first Ghanaian gospel artist to lead Members of Parliament in a worship session, exemplifying a spiritual evidence in the nation’s legislative space.
The powerful session took place during a Special Evening Service organized under the guidance of Hon. Isaac Ayiku Quashie, a Member of Parliament known for merging leadership with faith. The event brought together Parliamentarians from across party lines for a moment of unity, reflection, and devotion.
Koo Nhyira, known for his anointed voice and deeply spiritual worship ministry led the house in a powerful time of praise and worship. According to Koo Nhyira, with a spirit filled renditions of gospel songs and spontaneous praise, he shifted the atmosphere and turned the chamber into a sanctuary. His presence and ministry left a lasting impression for not only as a singer but as a vessel through which the presence of God was tangibly felt.
In a post-event reflection, Koo Nhyira shared, “It was an honor to be called upon to lead worship for Ghana’s lawmakers. He stated, ‘’I believe when leadership bows in worship, the nation moves in divine direction.”
As Koo Nhyira ministered, MPs lifted their voices, some with tears, some with lifted hands regardless of political affiliation as they all united in reverence.
Hon. Ayiku Hayibor reiterated by acknowledgeing the spiritual impact of Koo Nhyira’s ministration, saying, “We are not just lawmakers but also leaders called to serve under God’s authority. Tonight, Koo Nhyira reminded us of that.”
Koo’s groundbreaking worship has sets a precedent for more faith based engagements in Ghana’s parliament.
