Interior Ministry Bans Motorbike Use in Binduri After Attack on Military Patrol

The Ministry of the Interior Ghana has, with immediate effect, restricted the use of motorbikes in Binduri and its surrounding communities following an attack on a military patrol team by unknown assailants.

According to the Ministry, the directive is part of urgent measures aimed at restoring calm and strengthening security in the area. Authorities say the decision was taken after assessing the evolving threat situation.

The attack on the patrol team has heightened concerns about safety in the region, prompting swift intervention to prevent further incidents. Security agencies are currently on heightened alert as investigations continue.

Officials explained that motorbikes are often used in such attacks due to their speed and ease of movement, making the restriction a necessary step to support ongoing operations.

The Ministry emphasised that the restriction is temporary but critical to maintaining law and order, protecting lives, and safeguarding property within the affected communities.

Residents have been urged to cooperate fully with security personnel and comply with the directive to ensure peace is restored as quickly as possible.

The Ministry further warned that anyone who defies the ban will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
