1. Can anyone visit Ghana’s Parliament House?
✅ Yes! Parliament is open to the public all year round from Monday to Friday. Individuals don’t need prior permission to visit, but if you want to go in groups or as a school, then you must book in advance.
2. What days can I visit to watch Parliamentary debates?
📅 You can watch debates from the Public Gallery on:
Tuesdays
Wednesdays
Thursdays
Fridays
These are the official sitting days when Parliament is in session. So only if Parliament is sitting, for these days, you can free to visit. The Public galleries are the rows of seats directly above chamber where the MPs sit.

3. Do I need to book in advance before visiting the Parliament House of Ghana?
- Individual visitors: If you are visiting as an “individual” then No booking needed! Just show up with a valid ID.
- Group or school visits: Yes! If you want to go in groups or as a school, then you must book in advance. You must submit a written request to the Director of Public Engagement or apply online via this link :

4. What do I need before I would be allowed to enter Parliament House?
Before one is allowed to enter the Parliament House to observe proceedings, these will be checked at the various security points:
✔ A valid ID (Ghana Card, Passport, etc.)
✔ Pass security screening
✔ Follow all security instructions
5. What is NOT allowed in the Public Gallery of the Parliament House of Ghana?
These are some activities that are prohibited for members of the public who visit the Parliament to observe proceedings:
❌ No loud talking, clapping, or making comments
❌ No demonstrations or disruptions
❌ No photography or recordings without permission
❌ No bags, cameras, or electronic devices (must be checked in at entry)
❌ Phones must be switched OFF
Failure to comply can lead to removal or the involvement of the police to take necessary action(s).

If you are a Man: Formal attire (No shorts, slippers, or ripped jeans)

All Visitors Must stand when the Speaker enters or leaves the chamber ?
Visitors are allowed to observe proceedings ONLY at the public gallery. You cannot enter sit in the chamber where the Parliamentarians undergo business of the day.
Visitors are NOT allowed to involve themselves in the business of the chamber
