Besoro St. Stephen Roman Catholic Primary School in the Sekyere-Kumawu District has held a combined graduation ceremony for Class 6 and KG2 pupils, alongside a prefects’ handing-over ceremony. The memorable event was marked by heartfelt speeches, the commissioning of a new pipe-borne water facility, and strong community involvement.

Addressing the gathering, the Headmistress, Mrs. Florence Addo, congratulated the pupils on reaching this important milestone, especially the Class 6 pupils transitioning to Junior High School. She described the graduation as more than a formality, but a symbolic journey into adolescence and responsible living.

“This stage of your life is when important decisions begin,” she said. “Choose your friends wisely, be mindful of your actions, and always carry with you the moral values instilled in you here.” She also encouraged the pupils to appreciate the sacrifices of their parents and urged them to make them proud through discipline, focus, and gratitude.
Mrs. Addo called on parents to prioritise their children’s education and welfare above all else, saying, “The glory of every parent lies in the success and future of their children. Let us never relent in guiding and supporting them.”
As part of the programme, the school commissioned a newly installed pipe-borne water system, generously donated by Mr. Solomon Osei Boadaa, a proud native of Besoro residing in the United States. The facility is expected to enhance hygiene and access to clean water for the school community.
One of the highlights of the day was the “Face of Besoro R/C” pageant, which brought excitement and joy to both pupils and parents. The winner was awarded a 32-inch television, while other finalists received a standing fan, an electric kettle, and an iron.
In response to the school’s infrastructural needs, Mr. Asiedu Gorden, Chairman of the event, pledged to construct a new toilet facility for the school by the end of the year, a commitment warmly received by staff and parents alike.

The Local Manager of Catholic Schools and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Kusi Twumasi, congratulated the graduating pupils and encouraged parents to continue partnering with the school in nurturing responsible and God-fearing children. He reiterated the Catholic Church’s commitment to moral, spiritual, and holistic development in education.
Hon. Rita Ntow, the NPP Women’s Organizer for the Kumawu Constituency, graced the occasion and commended the school for its excellent organisation and dedication to the holistic development of learners. Her presence further emphasised the community’s collective support for education.
Mr. Samuel Worae, the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) for Besoro Circuit, commended the school’s leadership and staff for the initiative. He praised the event as a sign of strong community-school collaboration and urged its continuation. All graduands received certificates of achievement to mark their transition.
