Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor has been appointed as the Director of Presidential Initiatives in Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Presidency by Ghana’s new President John Dramani Mahama.
Expressing his gratitude in a post on his official X (formerly twitter) account, Dr. Otokunor described the appointment as a rare opportunity and pledged to commit his knowledge, skills, and experience to advancing President Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s agricultural sector.
He also extended appreciation to party members, comrades, and well-wishers for their support, signing off with gratitude in multiple local languages: “Akpe kaka!”, “Ny3yi Waladon!”, and “Medaase!”

Is Dr. Otokunor’s appointment going to bring renewed focus on agribusiness, food security, and economic transformation? Should Ghanaians expect his leadership to drive key initiatives that will enhance farm productivity, support agripreneurs, and boost Ghana’s agricultural economy?
While some of his followers congratulated him, others thought the portfolio he’s been assigned is a rather “useless” one.
GH Educate will keep you posted on whatever info that drops…
