A solemn atmosphere filled the air as 23-year-old Police Constable Isaac Kwofi, who lost his life in the Bawku conflict, was laid to rest.
Family, friends, and fellow officers gathered in deep sorrow to pay their final respects to the young man who died in the line of duty. Isaac was part of a police deployment to the Upper East Region, assigned to help maintain peace in the conflict-prone Binduri area, when tragedy struck on April 13.
Uniformed officers stood in silence, offering a final salute, while mourners wept and embraced one another in grief. The burial ceremony was marked by emotional tributes that honoured Isaac’s courage, sacrifice, and service to the nation.
His death, along with that of fellow officer Constable Rockson sent shockwaves across the country and raised fresh concerns about the safety and preparedness of officers deployed to volatile areas.
Many are calling for stronger protections and support for frontline security personnel who risk their lives daily in the service of peace.
