The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, under the leadership of Lady Julia Osei Tutu, has held a high-level strategic meeting focused on advancing the welfare of women and children. The important engagement took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace, bringing together key stakeholders and international partners.
The meeting, organised under the Lady Julia Foundation for Women and Children, aimed to deepen discussions on women’s empowerment, child protection, and social development. It also sought to expand the Foundation’s growing impact across Asanteman and beyond.
Participants explored practical strategies to address pressing issues affecting women and children, including access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. The discussions highlighted the urgent need for collaborative action and sustained investment in vulnerable communities.
The gathering attracted a strong diplomatic presence, emphasizing international interest in the Foundation’s work. Among the dignitaries present was Simone Giger, Ambassador of Switzerland to Ghana, alongside Myriam Montrat.
Also in attendance were Diarra Dime-Labille and Norma Ang Sánchez, whose presence reflected strong international support for initiatives that promote gender equality and child welfare.
The private sector was equally represented, with Ama Bawuah, Board Member of Access Bank and President of the Ghana-Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, contributing to discussions on sustainable development and partnerships.
Representatives from the Eve Medical Foundation also participated, bringing insights on healthcare interventions for women and children, particularly in underserved communities.
The meeting reinforced Lady Julia Osei Tutu’s commitment to building a future where women are empowered and children are protected. It also marked a significant step toward strengthening partnerships that will drive long-term social impact in Ghana and beyond.
