Woraso is a serene community in the Sekyere Kumawu district, Odumase is one of the communal areas in the town called Woraso. The said area mentioned was thrown into confusion and grief early yesterday’s morning when a mysterious fire completely gutted an Opel Astra parked in front of a residence.
According to Grace, an eyewitness, the shocking incident occurred around 1:00 AM. “I woke up to use the bathroom and went back to bed,” she recalled. “Moments later, I noticed smoke seeping into my room and panicked. We searched everywhere but couldn’t find the source until I stepped outside. That’s when I saw my father’s elder brother’s taxi engulfed in flames!”
Her cries for help stirred the neighborhood into action but despite their best efforts all attempts to put out the fire failed. The vehicle which belonged to Mr. Agyemang, was reduced to ashes before the community’s eyes. Although the exact cause remains unknown, many suspect it could have been triggered by an electrical fault.
Eye witnesses described Mr. Agyemang as utterly devastated by the loss. Grace told GH Educate that the visibly shaken car owner could barely speak but was comforted by neighbors who encouraged him to remain calm. The incident has left residents in a state of confusion and they are calling for a deeper investigation. As we speak, no official statement has been released regarding the tragedy, but the community continues to rally behind Mr. Agyemang in solidarity.
This unfortunate event serves as a mournful reminder of the unpredictability of life and the need for vigilance even in the quietest corners of our communities.
