Ibrahim Tanko has officially announced his decision to step down as the Head Coach of Accra Lions.
The club confirmed his departure in a statement released on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, revealing that Tanko will leave his position with immediate effect.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko stated that he wants to step down to focus on personal projects.
Tanko joined Accra Lions as Head Coach in 2022 and led the team to a second-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season. According to the statement, the club confirmed that Tanko will hand over his responsibilities to German coach Rainer Kraft immediately to ensure that club activities are not disrupted by his departure

It is important to note that Accra Lions currently sits second from the bottom in the Ghana Premier League after playing 16 matches.
Statistics indicate that the team has won just two games, drawn seven, and lost seven.
