Okudzeto Ablakwa Ghana Japan Three Priority Initiatives

Ghana has undertaken three priority initiatives with Japan.

According to a statement issued on the official Facebook page of Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs indicated that this bilateral engagement with Her Excellency Suzuki Momoko, Chief Representative of JICA in Ghana, focuses on three major priority areas.

Ghana and Japan three priority initiatives are:

  1. Reviving the Volivo to Dorfor Adidome bridge project, which will connect the Greater Accra, Volta, and Eastern Regions.
  2. Constructing an interchange in the Ashanti Region to ease congestion.
  3. Providing technical support to boost rice production in Ghana.

The Foreign Minister also stated that Ghana will participate in TICAD 9, where the country will explore additional partnerships, including scaling up chocolate exports to Japan, considering the increasing demand for Ghanaian chocolate in the Japanese market.

He further emphasized that President Mahama’s government will continue to strengthen Ghana-Japan cooperation, similar to past collaborations such as the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and other initiatives.
