The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a two-day mid-term break for all public basic schools across the country.
According to an official notice released by the Service, pupils and teachers in public basic schools will observe the break on Monday, June 8, 2026, and Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
The mid-term break forms part of the approved academic calendar and is intended to provide both learners and teachers with a short period of rest during the academic term.

Schools are expected to resume academic activities immediately after the break to continue teaching and learning activities as scheduled.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to take note of the dates and make the necessary arrangements for their children during the brief holiday period.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the break, noting that it offers students an opportunity to refresh themselves while preparing for the remaining weeks of the term.
GES has urged all schools to comply with the directive and ensure a smooth return to academic work after the two-day recess.
Mid-Term Break: 8th – 9th June 2026
