Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had the honor of addressing the graduates of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College Course 45 and the Master of Science in Defence and International Politics on Friday, 23rd August 2024, in Accra.
His speech emphasized the significance of the Ghana Armed Forces in the country’s democratic evolution and their continuous pursuit of excellence in education as well.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his deep confidence in the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College for the substantial progress they have made in their educational endeavors over the years. He lauded the institution for its commitment to producing leaders equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of national and international security.
In his address, Dr. Bawumia also praised the Ghana Armed Forces for their pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing Ghana’s democratic stability. He emphasized that their dedication has helped Ghana become a model of democracy in the West African subregion. He urged the Armed Forces to zealously guard this hard-earned reputation, recognizing that their efforts are crucial in preserving the integrity and resilience of Ghana’s democracy.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted the growing threat of misinformation and disinformation, particularly as Ghana approaches the presidential and parliamentary elections in December. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against these challenges, as they have the potential to undermine national development and democratic processes.
Dr. Bawumia congratulated all the graduates on their achievements and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to contribute meaningfully to the security and development of Ghana and beyond.
