Akufo-Addo Promotes Six Prison Officers from Deputy Directors to Directors

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has approved the promotion of six (6) senior officers in the Ghana Prisons Service from the rank of Deputy Director of Prisons (DOP) to Director of Prisons.

This significant advancement in rank was executed upon the recommendation of the Prisons Service Council, which plays a crucial role in advising the government on personnel matters within the Service.

The officers who have earned this honor include DOP Paul Teye Ademan, DOP Ali Kwaku Ababio, DOP Hagbe Francis Selorm, DOP Millicent Owusu, DOP Brandford Gilbert Hama, and DOP Issaku Yahaya. Their promotions officially took effect on December 1, 2024, marking a new chapter in their professional careers.

The President, the Minister for the Interior, and members of the Prisons Service Council extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted officers. They expressed confidence in the officers’ ability to perform effectively and contribute for the development of the Prisons Service.
