The Ministry of Health in partnership with Ghana Health Service has announced that the new Kumawu Hospital will be commissioned by President Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, 17th July 2024.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to be a significant event, with numerous dignitaries in attendance. Among them will be Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana; Hon. Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the Minister of Health; Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister; Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, the Kumawumanhene; Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, the Member of Parliament for the Kumawu Constituency; and Hon. Samuel Addae Agyekum, the District Chief Executive of the Kumawu District; Hon. Kojo Agyemang Prempeh, Kumawu NPP Chairman, among others.
According to reports, the newly constructed hospital serve the Kumawu Constituency and the Sekyere Afram Plains District, significantly enhancing healthcare delivery in these areas. The hospital is expected to address a variety of medical needs, providing much-needed healthcare services to the local populace. It will cater to a wide range of health issues, and sources suggest that it may also serve as a referral point for minor cases, thereby alleviating some of the burdens on larger hospitals in the region.
The establishment of the Kumawu Hospital is part of government’s ongoing efforts to improving healthcare infrastructure across the country. It highlights the commitment of the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all Ghanaians, regardless of their location.
Information received indicated that the new hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and staffed by trained healthcare professionals, ready to deliver top-notch medical care.
