Kumawu to Launch Papa Nantwie Festival on February 2

The Kumawu Traditional Council, under the distinguished leadership of Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, Kumawumanhene, and Nana Serwaa Amponsah, Kumawuman Hemaa, has officially announced the launch of the 2026 Papa Nantwie Festival. This announcement has been made to formally inform the general public and all stakeholders about the commencement of activities leading to the celebration of the festival.

The launch of the Papa Nantwie Festival is scheduled to take place on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Barima Asumadu Sakyi II Memorial Hall, located within the Akyerema Palace in Kumawu.

According to reports, the launch event will serve as a platform to officially outline the theme, programmes, and key activities expected to be undertaken throughout the period for the 2026 Papa Nantwie Festival. Further details concerning traditional rites, community engagements, and development-focused activities will be announced during the ceremony.

The event is expected to bring together chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, residents of Kumawu, and indigenes living both at home and abroad. It will also provide an opportunity to strengthen unity, preserve cultural heritage, and promote the values of the Kumawu people.
