Dr. Munawaru Issahaque, the Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), led a delegation to Labone Senior High School today after a fire outbreak caused significant damage to the girls’ dormitory. The fire affected three dormitories, displacing several students.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and the students have been relocated to other dormitories on campus. Dr. Issahaque’s team conducted a thorough assessment of the damage and provided counseling to the affected students, offering support during this challenging time.
The visit also served as an opportunity to meet with the school administration to discuss measures moving forward, ensuring that teaching and learning will continue without interruption. GES praised the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service for their prompt action in containing the blaze and preventing further harm.
