The Management of the University of Ghana has officially announced the postponement of the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic year. This information was conveyed in a letter addressed to the general public, students, and stakeholders.
According to the letter, the delay in starting the new academic year is due to the ongoing strike action by various employee groups within the institution. The university expressed its regret over the situation but emphasized the need to address the concerns of the affected groups before resuming academic activities.
Despite the postponement, the letter clarified that special programs, which were prearranged, will continue as scheduled without interruption. The Management urged students enrolled in these programs to follow their initial timelines.
Furthermore, the letter highlighted that a new date for the commencement of the 2024/2025 academic year will be communicated in due course.
The university assured students and staff that they will be informed promptly once a decision is reached, and it encouraged all parties to stay updated through the university’s official channels.
