Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (often referred to as NAPO), the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had the honor of receiving copies of Manasseh Azure Awuni’s new book, titled The President Ghana Never Got. This event was conducted on behalf of the NPP Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In his remarks, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized his confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s unwavering commitment to tackling the pervasive issue of corruption, which he believes is crucial for good governance. Dr. Bawumia, he noted, has consistently demonstrated his resolve to combat corruption with integrity and without bias or ill-will, a stance that underscores his reputation for incorruptibility.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh also took the opportunity to encourage Manasseh Awuni and the media to exercise caution and responsibility in their reporting and expression of opinions. This call for circumspection is part of a broader effort to strengthen Ghana’s democratic processes. He highlighted the importance of thoughtful and balanced reporting as a means to foster a more informed and engaged public.
Manasseh Awuni presented some copies of his new book directly to Dr. Opoku Prempeh. In response, Dr. Opoku Prempeh assured that he would promptly read the book and familiarize himself with its content, and he thanked Manasseh Awuni for honoring him with the copies.
