The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, under the guidance of its Board Chairman, Oheneba Boachie Adjei Woahene II, in collaboration with Otumfuo Hiahene and the Asante Professionals Club, APC-USA, embarked on a significant initiative to commission the newly renovated Children’s Block within the premises of the Manhyia Government Hospital. This auspicious event, which took place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, was held in honor of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the revered Asantehene.
Reports indicated that the renovation efforts encompassed a comprehensive overhaul, including the painting of the entire ward, the refurbishment of washroom facilities, and the installation of brand-new hospital beds, mattresses, staff tables, chairs, hanging curtains, and the rectification of broken tiles, among
other essential enhancements. These improvements were carefully orchestrated to elevate the standard of care provided to the young patients at the hospital.
During the commissioning ceremony, Lady Barbara Acheampong, President of the Asante Professionals Club, USA chapter, stated the club’s unflinching dedication to executing various social projects as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility endeavors aimed at bolstering the healthcare system within Asanteman. She reiterated the club’s commitment to driving positive change and transformation within the community, particularly in healthcare provision.
Oheneba Boachie Adjei Woahene II, the Board Chairman of the Otumfuo Foundation, commended the Asante Professionals Club for their laudable initiative in spearheading the renovation of the children’s ward at Manhyia Hospital. He emphasized the profound significance of this gesture in honoring the Asantehene and expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the club’s dedication to uplifting the welfare of the community.
