H.E. John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mensah Thompson as the new Acting Deputy Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Mr. Mensah Thompson was the Executive Director of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA). He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana.
Mr. Thompson will deputize for James Klutse Avedzi, the Acting Director-General of the SEC.
The SEC plays a central role in the regulation and development of Ghana’s capital markets, including the oversight of licensed market operators, fund management, and collective investment schemes.
His appointment is expected to strengthen the Commission’s administrative structure and boost investor confidence.
