The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, paid a courtesy visit to President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, 23rd June, 2025 at his private residence in Accra.

The visit came shortly after Otumfuo’s presence as guest of honour at the graduation ceremony of his son, held on Saturday, 21st June 2025 in Accra. The ceremony was attended by family, traditional leaders, academics, and dignitaries from across the country, all celebrating the achievements of the young graduate.

Accompanied by a respected entourage of Nananom (chiefs and traditional elders), the Asantehene’s visit was a symbolic gesture of respect, goodwill, and statesmanship. According to sources close to the meeting, discussions between the two leaders touched on matters of national unity, traditional leadership, and the importance of fostering collaboration between institutions of state and chieftaincy.

The atmosphere was described as warm and cordial, reflecting the long-standing relationship between Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as custodian of Asante culture and tradition, and President Mahama, as a statesman and advocate for inclusive governance.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and PresidentJohn Dramani Mahama also exchanged reflections on the significance of education, mentorship, and the shared responsibility of leadership in shaping Ghana’s future. President Mahama expressed appreciation for the Asantehene’s visit and congratulated him on the achievements of his son.
