The Ghana Education Service (GES) has opened applications for promotion to various upper grades for serving non-teaching staff for the 2026 promotion exercise.
The invitation, dated 11 September 2026, covers non-teaching staff in the Accounting, Internal Audit, Administrative, Catering, Technical, Librarian, Supply, Laboratory Technician, Secretarial and Driver classes.
Who can apply?
According to GES, applicants must have been promoted to any of the listed grades in or before 2022 and must have been continuously at post since then, except for periods of approved absence. Applicants must also have a satisfactory work history and good conduct in the Service.
Master’s and PhD qualifications
GES has also provided specific conditions for officers seeking to rely on Master’s or PhD certificates for promotion.
The programme must be an approved GES course of study, the certificate must not have been obtained before the applicant’s previous promotion, and applicants using such certificates must have obtained them in or before 2023.
How to apply
Applicants are required to complete the application form online through the link provided by GES or by scanning the QR code on the official notice.
They are required to upload:
- A recent passport-sized photograph
- Only their last promotion/upgrading letter or appointment letter to their current grade
- Master’s/Doctorate certificate, only if it is being used for the promotion
All documents, except the passport-sized photograph, must be uploaded in PDF format and must be clear and readable.
Application deadline
The application window runs from Monday, 14 September to Monday, 28 September 2026.
