Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, visited Asante Mampong on Sunday, May 11, 2025, to commiserate with Nana Mamponghemaa, Nana Agyakoma Difie II.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh stated that his visit was to console the surviving widow, the bereaved family, and the people of Asante Mampong following the passing of Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II, the Mamponghene and occupant of the Silver Stool of Asanteman.
The sudden passing of Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II was officially announced to the general public on 28th April, 2025.
“Nana’s passing is a great loss to Mampong and Asanteman, but I feel the loss most personally because Daasebre was a father figure to me. I will miss his mentoring, counselling, and guidance,” NAPO emphasized.
It is important to note that Nana Agyakoma Difie II, the Queen Mother of Asante Mampong, was enstooled as the 14th Queen Mother of Asante Mampong on February 7, 2000.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh assured the Queen Mother and the royal family of his full support throughout the doteyie and final funeral rites.
“Damirifa due, Nana. Due ne amanehunu,” NAPO concluded.
