GNAT Rolls Out Highly Subsidized DStv Package for Teachers Nationwide

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has commenced the nationwide rollout of its highly subsidized DStv package, a major welfare initiative spearheaded by GNAT President, Prosper Tachie, and the Association’s national leadership.

The programme is aimed at providing teachers with access to premium television entertainment, educational content, sports, news, and family programming at significantly reduced subscription rates. Through the initiative, GNAT members can enjoy quality DStv services while making substantial savings on their monthly expenses.

The rollout has already begun in several regions, including the Brong Ahafo, Volta, and Ashanti Regions, where many teachers have embraced the programme. The positive response from members highlights the growing demand for practical welfare interventions that directly improve the lives of teachers and their families.

According to GNAT leadership, the subsidized DStv package forms part of the Association’s broader commitment to enhancing the welfare of members beyond salary advocacy and traditional union services. The initiative seeks to ensure that teachers enjoy meaningful benefits that add value to their membership.

Teachers across the country are being encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity as the programme expands to additional districts and regions. The negotiated discounts are expected to enable members to access their preferred DStv bouquets at more affordable rates while maintaining quality viewing experiences.

At a time when many households are seeking ways to reduce the cost of living, GNAT’s intervention has been widely welcomed as a timely and practical solution. The programme offers teachers an opportunity to enjoy quality entertainment and educational content without placing additional strain on their finances.

The DStv package is being hailed as another demonstration of the proactive and results-oriented leadership of Lawyer Prosper Tachie and his team of national officers, who continue to introduce innovative welfare programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of teachers.

As the nationwide rollout continues, GNAT members are encouraged to register and participate when the programme reaches their localities. The Association remains committed to delivering initiatives that place members first and provide tangible benefits that positively impact the lives of teachers and their families.

“The subsidized DStv package is a practical welfare intervention that allows teachers to enjoy premium television services at reduced cost while enhancing the value of GNAT membership.”
