As part of activities to mark the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, institutions and communities across the Ashanti Region are coming together to show their support and appreciation for the revered monarch.
In the spirit of unity and service, the Ghana Education Service (GES) Ashanti, under the leadership of Dr. William Amankrah, organized a special cleanup exercise throughout the Ashanti kingdom to participate in this momentous occasion.
The cleanup exercise which took place on Friday, the 22nd of March, 2024, was a proactive gesture of solidarity with Otumfou’s Silver Jubilee celebration.

Recognizing the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, Dr. Amankrah and the GES Ashanti team eagerly lent their support to this meaningful cause and show recognition for the numerous educational interventions and programmes instituted by His Royal Majesty, the Otumfour.
The exercise joined forces with esteemed partners including ZoomLion Ghana Limited, Kumasi Recycling Plant, and ClearPack Mineral Water, as well as receiving the unwavering support of individuals like Mrs. Joyce Nuamah, the GES Ashanti made a tangible difference in communities within the region.
The Regional Education staff together with all 43 Municipal and Districts Education Directorates within the region undertook cleanup activities in their localities. Teachers, students, Office Staff, Headteachers of both first and second cycle schools were all out cleaning in localities within their districts.
This is simply unprecedented…!
Through collaborations with local media partners such as Opemsour Radio, Otec FM, and Garden City Radio, they continue to spread awareness and encourage participation in this historic Silver Jubilee Celebration.
As educators, they understand the profound impact that Otumfou has had on the educational landscape within the region and beyond. His unwavering dedication to promoting excellence in education has inspired countless individuals and transformed lives for the better. It was only fitting that GES – Ashanti, as stewards of education, stood in solidarity with him during this momentous occasion.
Together, they have made history and left a lasting legacy of unity, service, and progress.
