Hon. Emmanuel Opoku (A.K.A Teacher 80), the Assembly Member for Temante and Nkwanta Electoral Area, has made a significant contribution to the educational sector by donating two teachers’ tables to Empower Playground D/A Primary School at Mobia.
The donation took place on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the school, which is under the Sekyere Kumawu District Education Directorate.
The Assembly Member was accompanied by Mr. Emmanuel Boori, the Unit Committee Chairman of the area, during the presentation ceremony. Reports indicate that this donation is part of Hon. Opoku’s broader commitment to improving the educational infrastructure in his electoral area. He has expressed his dedication to ensuring that schools within his jurisdiction are equipped with the necessary resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Information received indicates that Empower Playground D/A Primary School at Mobia is one of the recently established schools in the Sekyere Kumawu Education Directorate, making this donation appropriate. The lack of adequate furniture in many rural schools has long been a concern, and Hon. Opoku’s gesture is seen as a significant step toward addressing this issue.
The tables were gratefully received by Nana Jacob Acheampong, the Odikro of Mobia, who accepted them on behalf of the school’s headteacher. In his remarks, Nana Acheampong expressed his gratitude to Hon. Opoku for his generous contribution and emphasized the importance of continuous support for the school. He also appealed for more similar acts of kindness to help further improve the school’s facilities and learning environment.
