The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) announced on Thursday, March 27, 2025, that it has officially awarded the Egyptian Football Association (“EFA”) and the Egyptian government the rights to host the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025.
According to the release, this decision follows a notice received by CAF from the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (“FIF”) and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, stating that due to unforeseen circumstances, they are unable to host the tournament.
The release also revealed that the Egyptian Football Association and the Egyptian government had previously submitted a bid to host the tournament.

The opening match of the TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 will be played on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the final scheduled for May 18, 2025.
