Dr. Eric Nkansah, the immediate past Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has shared a message of appreciation and gratitude to Ghanaians as he leaves office.

Below are the details of his message:

“On 19th October 2022, I had the privilege and honour of being appointed by H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the then President of the Republic of Ghana, as the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES). Serving this great nation in such a vital capacity has been an incredible journey.

Today, as I bow out of GES as the Director-General, I want to thank God for His blessings and mercies upon my life.

I wish to specially thank the former President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. Special thanks also go to the former Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, for his leadership and guidance throughout my tenure.

I would like to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to our remarkable stakeholders (i.e., the GES Council, management, staff, labour unions, students, parents, development partners, CSOs, the media, and the public) who contributed to making this experience impactful and fulfilling. Your commitment to ensuring the success of Ghana’s education system has been simply exceptional. I am immensely proud of what we accomplished together.

Though I leave my position today, my commitment to education remains unwavering. I look forward to contributing to Ghana’s educational advancement in other capacities.

I wish the new Director-General well in his role. Let us all support him to succeed.

May we all continue to champion the cause of quality education for the benefit of every Ghanaian child.

Thank you, and God bless us all!”
