During the 5 days of non-stop singing marathon which happened at the Akwaaba Village in Accra, Afua’s soft, gentle, sentimental and romantic style of singing only Ghanaian-made songs attracted a lot of audience. She won the admiration of a lot of celebrated citizens who passed through to give their support.
Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia also came along plus a host of actors, actresses and influencers.
The attempt by the 33-year-old Afua Asantewaa Aduonum to break the record for the longest singing marathon began on the eve of Christmas and lasted a record 126 hours, 52 minutes. She beats the current sing-a-thon record holder who is an Indian by nearly 24 hours.
While she waits for an official recognition by the global authority, the current Vice President of Ghana and a Presidential hopeful has made arrangements for the tenacious young celebrity to relax at a plush hotel together with her husband, allowing them to enjoy a much-needed break and unwind, compensating for almost 6 days of accumulated sleep deprivation.
The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Ghana on the banks of the famous Volta River in the Eastern Region of Ghana and about 90 minutes drive from the capital city Accra.
GH Educate wishes Afua and her Husband well as they enjoy themselves waiting for the Victory Trumpet to sound from the Headquarters of the Guinness World Records.
