Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has warmly welcomed DCOI Fred Amankwah, the new Ashanti Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service, to his office.
The visit was to officially introduce himself to the Regional Minister and to discuss matters of mutual interest aimed at promoting and developing the region.

Reports suggest that their discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the Immigration Service and the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), with particular focus on pressing concerns such as the increasing number of foreign children involved in street begging, the involvement of some foreign nationals in illegal mining (galamsey), and emerging trends in cross-border internet fraud.
Both parties expressed their commitment to addressing these challenges confronting the region and, by extension, the nation.

Dr. Amoakohene assured the Commander of his readiness to work closely with his office to tackle these issues decisively and safeguard the peace and security of the Ashanti Region.
