Ansah Apagya is a name that has become familiar to many sports lovers in Ghana. His voice filled with passion and energy has graced the airwaves for years. But his journey to success in radio has been far from easy. From his humble beginnings at Obrempong FM in Swedru to his current role at Onua FM and Onua TV, Ansah’s story is one of perseverance, hard work, and a deep love for sports broadcasting.
Like many young people with a dream, Ansah started small. His first big break came at Obrempong FM, where he learned the ropes of radio broadcasting. He later moved to Space FM in Tarkwa, gaining more experience and refining his craft.
Then came a short stint at Sweet FM just three days, though brief, it was another stepping stone on his path. Determined to keep growing, he landed a role at Angel FM in Accra, one of Ghana’s leading radio stations. At aAngel, he gained a strong following, delivering in depth sports analysis and thrilling commentaries.
After nearly two years at Angel FM, Ansah decided to take on a new challenge. In June 2021, he officially joined Media General, the parent company of Onua FM and Onua TV. The move was a major step forward in his career, giving him a bigger platform to showcase his talent.
Today, he is one of the key voices on Onua FM, delivering top notch sports updates, transfer news, and exciting discussions that keep listeners glued to their radios. His segment, “Foreign Tit Bits,” has become a fan favorite, giving the latest international sports news in a way that is easy to understand and enjoy.
Ansah’s journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing. The radio industry is tough, and breaking through takes more than just talent but also requires hard work, resilience, and the ability to keep pushing forward despite setbacks. But one thing has remained constant and that’s his love for what he does.
“Radio is life,” he often says, and it’s clear he means it. He is still grinding, still learning, and still striving to reach his full potential before the day comes when he finally hangs up the mic.
Through it all, Ansah remains grateful to everyone who has supported him, his mentors, colleagues, listeners, and even critics who push him to be better. His story is proof that no matter where you start, with passion and dedication, you can achieve great things.
