The Honourable Maxwell Doffour Inter Communal Christmas Gala which was a much anticipated event in the Woraso Community that brought joy, excitement, and unity to the area during the festive season. The event which began on December 27, 2024, featured thrilling football matches that showcased the talents and teamwork of the participating communal areas.
Four teams were paired to compete in the initial stages. Kasafadie went head-to-head with Asikafoɔ Amanntɛm, while Odumase faced Abɛkɛseɛase. After fierce competition, Asikafoɔ Amanntɛm and Abɛkɛseɛase emerged as winners of their respective matches that earned a place in the finals.
The grand finale held on January 2, 2025, at the Woraso Community Park, was a spectacle to behold. In a game full of energy, skill, and determination, Asikafoɔ Amanntɛm triumphed over Abɛkɛseɛase to claim the ultimate prize. The champions were rewarded with jerseys, a cash prize, and footballs, and that was a testament to their hard work and sportsmanship.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, and the District Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Addai Agyekum. The chief of Woraso Community along with his elders who came to also support and that highlighted the significance of the gala in fostering community spirit.
Adding to the vibrancy of the event were renowned sports journalists Tonimuntana and Andy Kerm of Kess TV/FM Kumasi, who covered the games with professionalism and enthusiasm. Their presence amplified the importance of the event and drew attention from across the district.
