Chelsea and Manchester United’s clash at Old Trafford yesterday was an engaging match. The final score was 1-1, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a penalty for Manchester United in the 70th minute, only for Moises Caicedo to equalize with a stunning volley four minutes later.
Caicedo’s goal was a masterpiece, highlighting his tireless performance in midfield, marked by numerous tackles and interceptions. He even denied United a late winner with a brilliant piece of covering play in the final minutes of additional time.
It was Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first Premier League game as Manchester United’s interim manager. Although they didn’t secure a win, the team showed a lot of hard work and determination.
Malo Gusto’s passionate run into United’s penalty area was blocked by Martinez, while Chelsea’s Noni Madueke hit the post with a header from a corner in a near-miss moment. Rashford’s brilliant run into the Chelsea box was thwarted by Sanchez, who blocked the cross, and Bruno Fernandes fired over the bar on the rebound. Garnacho’s stunning volley also came inches over the bar with Sanchez beaten, nearly securing a winning goal for United.
Chelsea remain without a league win at Old Trafford since 2013, but they move above London rivals Arsenal into fourth place on goal difference with 18 points. Manchester United remain in 13th place with 12 points after 10 matches.
