According to a press release dated July 29, 2026, the Council announced that the results were released after the completion of all post-examination processes. Candidates are expected to access their results through the official WAEC online results portal using the approved result checker via https://eresults.waec.org.

A total of 603,328 candidates registered for the 2026 BECE for School Candidates. This figure comprises:
- 297,250 males
- 306,078 females
The examination was conducted in 2,237 examination centres across the country. Out of the total registered candidates, 501 candidates were absent from the examination.
Examination Malpractice Cases
Following investigations into reported examination irregularities, WAEC disclosed that it had sanctioned several candidates found culpable of various forms of malpractice.
The sanctions include:
- Cancellation of the subject results of 496 candidates.
- Cancellation of the entire results of 105 candidates.
- Withholding of subject results of 119 candidates.
- Withholding of entire results of 48 candidates.
The Council explained that these measures were taken after completing investigations into cases of examination malpractice detected during and after the conduct of the examination.
Results Withheld Pending Further Investigation
WAEC further announced that the subject results of 2,722 candidates from 229 schools have been withheld pending investigations into suspected collusion and other examination irregularities.
The Council indicated that the withheld results may either be released or cancelled depending on the outcome of the investigations. Schools and affected candidates are therefore advised to exercise patience while the investigations are completed.
Important Notice to Candidates
Candidates whose results have been cancelled or withheld should carefully check their online results. WAEC has stated that the status of affected results will clearly indicate whether they have been withheld or cancelled, together with the reason for the action taken.
Heads of schools and examination authorities are expected to comply with the Council’s directives regarding the next course of action for affected candidates.
WAEC Warns Against Fraudsters
WAEC has cautioned candidates, parents, guardians and the general public to be vigilant against individuals or groups who promise to upgrade or alter examination results for a fee.
The Council stressed that such claims are fraudulent, urging candidates to rely only on official WAEC channels for result checking and related services.
WAEC expressed its appreciation to all stakeholders, particularly the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service (GES), security agencies, heads of schools, supervisors, invigilators, examiners and all individuals who contributed to the successful conduct of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Candidates are encouraged to check their results responsibly and make the necessary preparations for the next stage of their academic journey.
