MORROCO QUALIFICATION

Morocco etched history on September 5, 2025, by becoming the first African nation to qualify for the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup which shall be hosted by 3 countries U.S.A, Canada, Mexico after a commanding 5–0 victory over Niger in Rabat.

The Atlas Lions extended their perfect run and claimed top spot in CAF Group E with two games to spare as such victory makes them the only African side with a 100% record through seven matchdays.

Their emphatic win featured a brace from Ismaël Saibari and goals from Ayoub El Kaabi, Hamza Igamane, and Azzedine Ounahi.

Tanzania’s earlier 1–1 draw with Congo confirmed Morocco’s unassailable lead in the group.

This qualification marks Morocco’s third consecutive World Cup appearance and their seventh overall as they continue a surge following their historic run to the semi-finals in Qatar 2022.

With nine automatic spots available for Africa in 2026 (plus a playoff for a potential tenth), Morocco’s early qualification sets the benchmark for other continental contenders.
