DANIEL AFRIYIE BANNIE

Ghanaian forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has made an electrifying start at his new club, FC Aarau, in Switzerland’s Challenge League.

After completing a free-transfer move in early July 2025, following a mutual contract termination with FC Zürich, the 24-year-old arrived with something to prove and he’s delivered in emphatic fashion.

In his opening trio of league games, Barnieh has scored in each fixture and registered one assist making it four goal involvements in just three matches.

His latest performance encapsulated his early impact whiles an early goal in the 14th minute helped Aarau secure a 2-0 home victory over Xamax, earning him praise as the club’s main attacking threat.

The early buzz isn’t just about stats but the fans have already embraced him as a key figure in the side’s push for promotion.  His quick adaption and consistency have made him a fan favorite almost overnight.

Barnieh’s electric form and renewed visibility could bolster his case for national team recall especially as Ghana’s Black Stars look to expand their attacking options.

Barnieh is showing that a change of scenery can reignite a career and earn the adoration of a new set of supporters.
