NTC to Abolish Teacher Licensure Exams in Ghana

Ghana’s Ministry of Education has ordered the National Teaching Council (NTC) to abolish the Teachers’ Licensure Exams by August 30, 2025.

The directive was given by Hon. Haruna Iddrisu during the swearing-in of the newly constituted governing Board for the NTC.

The Minister for Education, Hon. Iddrisu, indicated that the current exam-based model will be replaced with a new system centred on academic training and practical field experience.
