Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has distributed mathematical sets to Junior High School (JHS) students preparing to write the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) next week.
Mr. Dumelo, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, made the donation during a visit to several schools in his constituency on Thursday.

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the MP said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden on students and parents while encouraging the candidates to excel in their exams.
“I distributed mathematical sets to various schools in Ayawaso West Wuogon on Thursday to aid the JSS students write their BECE exams next week. I took the opportunity to wish them well and pass and pass well,”
Dumelo tweeted along with a video of the visit.
The video shows Mr. Dumelo engaging with students, handing out the mathematical sets, and offering words of encouragement ahead of the nationwide exam.
The BECE is a crucial for every young Ghanaian learner in Ghana’s education system. It the results of the BECE that is used in determining placement into Senior High Schools of one’s choice.
The newcomer MP, popularly known as “Farmer John,” has been widely praised for his consistent support to education and youth development in his constituency.
